a new route to wellnessThere is more and more enthusiasm and interest in Cyprus at the moment over the Crystal Singing Bowls. When people first hear the Crystal Singing Bowls at The Soma Centre they are usually taken completely by surprise. The sound is truly is out of this world. The effect is both grounding and uplifting.
The Crystal Singing Bowls are all made of quartz crystal powder which dropped into a centrifugal force spinning mould and is heated to tremendously high temperatures of several thousands of degrees centigrade. The individual particles of powder are then integrated to make the bowl. The integrated structure of the purest resonance sends out audible sound tested up to a third of a mile or so. There are three types of Crystal Singing Bowl opaque, clear and optically clear quality which looks almost like glass.
When played with a rubber mallet or suede covered tube usually called a wand, they create a sine wave, a very pure sound that carries through physical objects. As the human body has a lot of resonation potential the bowls and the person work together in harmony. Resonance is the ability of a vibration to reach out and trigger a response in anything of similar frequency.
As the human body is made in part of millions and millions of crystals called Apatite crystals, present in our bones, when we work with the Bowls there is a resonation and harmonization and an integration process that goes on between the internal and external vibration. As the resonance vibrates the body cavities …..it vibrates our crystals and affects the crystalline structure of our bones. It is this vibration which has an effect on the spine, diffusing along the nerve pathways to our organs. The effects touch our tissues, cells and body systems such as circulation, metabolism, endocrine as well as balancing the hemispheres of the brain.
The crystal bowls come in a number of sizes from 6 inches diameter to 22 inches. Each bowl is tuned to a certain pitch which relates directly to each of the 7 Chakras. When we play the bowl or the bowl is played for us, we become intrinsically involved in our own healing process.
